Testudo are working with a UK based facilities services provider to hire an Operations Manager that will oversee the delivery of facilities services and contract management in the public sector, to a Government backed Public Private Partnership (PPP).

The main responsibility is to lead and deliver operational management for a portfolio of public buildings across the Southern and Western areas of Greater London. This will include focussing on continuous improvement of services through implementing innovative and cost effective measures and always ensuring a fully compliant service within Health & Safety matters. 

Given the financial forecasts for public services, the on going restraints on their resources you will have the opportunity and the responsibility to play a integral role in improving and supporting the UK's services. This should be looked at as an opportunity to really come to grips with what can be done in the public realm, thinking long-term as to how you could reduce energy costs, working with contractors to maximise the buildings capabilities and to manage the costs for each building providing best value for the tenants.

The ideal candidate will need to have experience in managing a contract where they are responsible for multitude of services including hard & soft FM and tenant management. You will have support from the finance teams to manage the budgets and forecast each month as accurate as possible, but a proven ability to manage accounts will make you an advantageous candidate. 

If you have worked both service provider and client direct before, this will help to understand the possible constraints you will come under, being a public sector client you will have to adhered to public private partnership rules and regs.

To summarise, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in hard & soft facilities management delivery
  • Financially astute with a strong analytical mind
  • Knowledge of LIFT, PPP or PFI schemes
  • Health & safety qualifications with experience in outlining procedures for reporting teams.

Joining this company you will be offered a salary between £50K - £55K with excellent benefits including private healthcare as well as the opportunity to study during your work with clear progression lines to take on a General Management role in the next 2 - 3 years.
