Store Manager - Highstreet


Job Description

We are working with a national retail brand that is a market leader in health & beauty and wellness, we are looking for a store manager for a brand new store opening in Kent.

This is a great opportunity for a store manager with experience running a B category shop to step up to a larger premises, with a bigger team and more challenging targets to hit. Due to it being a new store, you will be expected to engage with the local managers and community to build relationships and offer competitive to deals driving traffic into your new store. You will have regular team meetings, to boost morale and build a one team mentality. Weekend work will be expected but not every week, support management will also be recruited to make the 4 week rota's easier and as the Christmas season approaches you can expect to be kept on your toes.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales management leading a team either in a field sales role or in a retail environment, understanding KPI's and how to have a strategy on how to deliver them. As this is a large store, you will be expected to understand supply chain demands, stock management and cash management. Visual marketing will be supported but you will be expected to make proactive effort to engage with the community building trust and strong relationship to get the town talking and take the store to be number one in your region for the seasonal period ahead.

To summarise, the ideal candidate will have some of the following:
  • Experience in managing a retail environment and a people focussed manager
  • Manage store standards including stock, cash and sales
  • Excellent communicator with strong verbal and written communication

This role offers a basic salary of approximately £32,000 with bonus, basic healthcare cover after 6 months and travel expenses for long distance travellers. You will be expected to work an average 40 hours week, with rotation pattern in working weekends.
